Vatsal Chaya launches Adolescent Girls Empowerment Program’Kishori Shakti Abhiyan”. The Governor Punjab and Haryana was the Chief Guest.
Chandigarh has 21% people below the stated poverty line indices and people a little above it are quite deprived too.How does gender impact girls in these critical years after primary schooling and turning adult? How can their needs and vulnerabilities be addressed.

Child ProtectionCompendium

As NGO member of a Child Protection Working Group created in May 2016 by Chandigarh Child Protection Society U.T.C.P.S under Dept of Social Welfare in a span of 3 months we have completed a Child Protection Compendium with 9 modules of Standard Operating Procedures based on Juvenile Justice (Care &Protection of children)Act 2015 , POCSO Act, RTE Act and key principles of child rights.
Contains Child Labor, Children in conflict with law, Child Sex Abuse Physical Abuse of Children, Substance Abuse in Children, Special Children, management of children’s home, non institutional care and child protection in schools.
Was released today by Governor Punjab Shri V.P.Singh.

Clowns Across Borders with Vatsal Chaya children and families in Col No 4.Its now the largest slum in Chandigarh where the school is overcrowded, unsafe for further building .There are no playgrounds in school or vicinity. Vatsal Chaya bus takes 150 children from here every day and also teaches 60 children near their huts.Introducing the jolly and beautiful clowning trio of Sukhmani Kohli from Chandigarh, Gabriela Munoz from Mexico , Sampo Kurppa from Helisinki and Noah Veil from USA

Vatsal Chaya gets Literacy Heroes Award at Rotary Ujaala Intercity Event on August 21st 2016.

Rotary Ujala Literacy Hero Award from Mr Ram Bilas Sharma Education Minister Haryana

 

An intercity, Ujala, showcasing the literacy and Wash in Schools programmes undertaken by various Rotary Clubs in the Rotary District 3080 was held at Hotel Hyatt Chandigarh.

Over 600 Rotarians from all over the District converged to the city to participate in this event which had Shri Ram Bilas Sharma, Minister of Education, Haryana as the chief guest, along with some of the leading Rotary luminaries, including former world President of Rotary International Rajendra K. Saboo, past Rotary International Director Shekhar Mehta, Zonal Literacy Committee Chair Ranjan Dhingra, amongst others, informed the Rotary District Governor Raman Aneja.
